HAUL: Target & Walgreens

Yesterday I had to go into town for some testing, and I thought I would waste time by doing some shopping while waiting for the boy to get off work. My mindset to try to find the new Maybelline Color Tattoos lead me to the not so good side of town and in a dangerous situation. Luckily no one got hurt. I was so upset and overwhelmed that I decided to head home and not even wait until the boy got home before he left for his trip.

A lot of random purchases this week. I did buy more baby things, but I obviously am not going to show those in case she sees this post. After the baby shower, I will show you the details of my gift! I didn't mean to confuse anyone in last week's haul, but I am not pregnant. Sorry to break your hearts!  ;)

Cute new pencils, pencil bag that will most likely accumulate more stuff in my purse, and one of my all-time favorite mascaras that I have used in over a year--Covergirl LashBlast!
I scored this gem in the clearance at Walgreens. Damn--that reminds me I have to clean my brushes this weekend!

Walgreens has Sinful Colors nail polish for 99 cents! I picked up a few before that incident happened. Monday I have to go back into town, so hopefully I can pick up more of the basics I needed to pick up! haha

I went to the dollar store and picked up a few of these containers for when I'm bringing my blogging essentials downstairs and then back upstairs. I have been on the hunt for St. Patrick's Day tissue paper. I haven't been able to find any, so I settled for these!

Finally, I picked up to start my inspiration for St. Patrick's Day!

What did you buy this week!?

REVIEW: ELF Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick

I wouldn't consider this to be a "gloss". It does have a pretty sheen. The color is pigmented and buildable. It applies like a lipstick, but the formula is thinner.

The claim of being long wearing are to the extent of maybe an hour. Obviously with eating and drinking it will transfer and rub off more easily. I would consider this to be just like a regular lipstick but in a chubby pencil form. There's no taste to it, but it does have a peppermint scent.

My lips didn't feel chapped or dry after wearing, so it is moisturizing.

I do like the packaging. I like that it's a stiff retractable pencil. When I say "stiff", I mean that it won't twist all by itself in a purse or your pocket. The cap also seams pretty firm and stays on nice.

I don't looove it, but I don't hate it. It's kinda up in the air. I am very interested in how the other shades wear and how pigmented they are. For $2 it was worth the try.

Let me know if you've tried these and what your thoughts are!

REVIEW: Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

I had very high hopes for the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. Unfortunately, after trying it, I think it's over hyped.

I love the texture. It's so soft and smooth. HOWEVER, the claims of being an instant pore eraser don't hold up. When you first apply it to your skin, it makes your skin look matte and smooth. But while blending your foundation on top you can feel it move, and you're really just blending your foundation with it as one.

One thing that really turned me off about the product was how oily and how fast my skin got oily after applying it. The two times I've used this product my face was an oil field within two hours after application. I even used it with both long wearing foundations I'm currently using and loving, and it still made me oily within a couple hours.

The photo below is one hour after full-face makeup application. As you can see, my face is starting to get the infamous "glow" that someone with oily skin usually gets after 4-5 hours after makeup application.

I was for sure that my skin would break out, but thankfully that never happened.

If you've tried the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser, let me know your thoughts and opinions!

SUNDAY FUNDAY: First Time Ice Fishing & Valentine's Day

I have to say the past few days have been so memorable and so much fun! (Be prepared for a photo overload!)

The weather was so beautiful on Thursday, the boy convinced me to go ice fishing...we even busted out his new ice hut that he received for Christmas!

It is so crazy to think that we were walking on the Mississippi River...I about had a mini heart attack...

After seeing how thick the ice was my nerves settled...I even drilled my own hole!!

This little birdie was trying to attack Ethan...but I think he just wanted a worm!

Although it was a gorgeous day out...I'm so happy we took the hut. I actually prefer ice fishing than regular fishing...

Love him! ♥

Even though the boy and I agreed on no gifts...

I caved and picked him up a couple things! ♥

He caved, too! ♥

Friday afternoon we went to see HOME FREE--the winners of the Sing-Off...
A cousin of mine sang in the school's Chamber Choir where the concert was held...

Front row seats...felt like I was being serenaded the whole time...♥

Of course, we finished the night off with hockey. Nothing is more romantic than $1 Beer & Hot dogs! ;)

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!
Back to reality this week as the job hunt continues!
