Sunday, July 28

I have to admit I have missed doing my Sunday Funday posts--mostly because it's a chance for you guys to get to know me better. This July has seriously been one of the best months in my life. The boy and I got to do so many things. We got to spend a lot of time camping and vacationing, so I wanted to share a few photos of our adventures...I hope you enjoy!

Our beautiful room view from our resort in Osage Beach in the Lake of the Ozarks.

We spent our time in the Ozarks relaxing, taking in the beautiful views, and celebrating the boy's 21st birthday!

Pre-gaming before we went out...haha

Before we went out for dinner...(excuse the quality...reverse camera on my phone is $*!&)

One of neatest things we did was tour the Bridal Caves--absolutely amazing...(and NO WE DID NOT GET MARRIED! haha)

While planning our little trip, I convinced the boy that we should stay a night in St Louis--we had to tour Grant's Farm and see the world renowned Budweiser Clydesdale horses.

The St Louis Zoo was another no-brainer stop on our trip...but of course my camera battery died.

The view from our hotel room!

Of course, we had to visit the arch!

The perfect way to end our trip was to tour the Anheuser-Busch Brewery...

Lately, we've been hanging out at county fairs and attending stock car races...
I can't forget to mention how chilly it has been the past couple days...had to pull out a sweatshirt! #brrr

*REVIEW: Hana Professional 1" Flat Iron

When I was younger, I would always straighten my hair. How ironic, right, since my hair is already pretty straight? However, I have always loved the way my hair looks when I use a flat iron.

I've purchased at least 6 other flat irons in the past from the drugstore, but never thought about spending money on a high-end brand.  About two months ago contacted me about trying out the Hana Professional Flat Iron. I thought it would be a good idea to branch out and try something new. The only high-end brand that I could think of was a Chi Flat Iron, and so I figured why not give it a try. Why not try a brand I've never heard of before?

The Hana Professional 1" Flat Iron retails for $129.98 which is EXPENSIVE. If this product wasn't sent to me for review, I personally wouldn't have even thought about buying it because it's certainly not in my price range.

Compared to other brands I've tried, the Hana Pro 1" Flat Iron is the lightest flat iron I've ever used. It also heats up fast and continues to stay hot after you've passed it through your hair. I have very thick, long hair, and I only had to sweep the iron through the sections of my hair once or twice. Other flat irons I've used I've had to pass them through multiple times to get the results I wanted.

After using it for the last two months, I've concluded that it's the best flat iron I've ever used. I've traveled with it. It's light, compact, and it's got a long swivel cord. Honestly, it's everything you would want in a flat iron. It heats up fast, you can change the temperature for styling different hair types, and it just plain looks cool.

As I am getting older, I'm realizing that hair tools (for me) are something to splurge on. I have always had very thick hair, and drugstore hair tools have never worked the greatest for me. I have realized this with my curling irons and now this flat iron is another example. You have to take in consideration your budget and other factors like your hair type and how often you straighten your hair.

I know $130 is expensive, and I'm not telling you to go out and buy it or not to buy it. These are just my honest opinions. This is just a review. I love this flat iron--it's the best I've tried (so far). It's great quality, and it's something that I'll have probably for the rest of my life.

Let me know your thoughts and opinions about flat irons. What's the most you have or would spend on a flat iron? Are there any that you love? I'd love to know!

REVIEW: Veet East Wax Electrical Roll-On Kit

When it comes to hair removal, my method of choice has always been by shaving. Although it doesn't last as long as other methods, it's easy, quick, and fairly inexpensive.

I was intrigued when Influenster sent me the Veet Easy Wax Electrical Roll-On Kit ($25-$35). I received the kit a day after just shaving my legs, so I had to wait two weeks before my leg hair reached the required minimum length for the product to work.

Long story short--my hair wasn't long enough, and it only removed some of the hair. Because I didn't want to wait a few more days for my hair to get any longer, I enlisted the boy's help...

It worked great for removing his almost inch-long, leg hair. It was smooth, and it took almost a month for the hair to grow back.

The kit itself is a good kit. The directions are very easy to follow, and everything you need is in it

Waxing can be very time consuming, but it's great for long-lasting results. After trying the Veet Easy Wax Kit, I gotta say that it's still not for me. The two BIG reasons it's not for me: (1) you have to wait for the hair to be long enough, and (2) IT FREAKING HURTS.

Like I said, the kit is good, but I don't think I will ever repurchase or will I ever use up the rest in this kit. I think I'll stick to shaving and my Nair Shower Power cream hair remover.

*I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

I wanted to fill you in on something new I'm starting with my blog. Although my goal for this blog is to bring you new product reviews, I also really want to try to do more updates on the products that I have already reviewed for you guys. I ALWAYS give my honest opinions about products; however, sometimes those opinions change after the post is up--weeks or months go by, seasons change, your skin changes, many things change. There are many factors a person has to consider when reviewing and giving their personal opinions about products. Something might work in the summer, but it doens't in the winter. Something might work for you, but it doesn't quite work for me. Whether you're a beauty blogger or not, I hope you guys can understand where this is coming from.

This whole new "UPDATE" section in its original post idea came to me recently when I started to try out the NARS Laguna bronzer again. If you have been reading my blog, you know that back in February I wrote a review for Laguna, and I was so disappointed with the product. I was so upset that I spent so much money on it, and it didn't end up working for me.

Back then it didn't work out, but LATELY I have been loving it. Long story short--I have added an UPDATE section to the original review post. This way when a newcomer visits my blog or a one-stop reader searches for a review, they get all of my opinions in one post and information isn't scattered in different posts throughout my blog.

I obviously won't be doing this for every single product that I have reviewed. However, from time to time if my opinions about the product change or if I find a new way to use something, I will definitely do an update.

If you want to see my new opinions about the NARS Laguna bronzer, you can click the link below, and it will take you to my original post.

Let me know what you guys think! I'd love to know you're opinions about this!
