Where I've been the past month!

I've gotten so many sweet messages and tweets asking me if I would please come back to blogging, and I got to say that it felt so good to be missed. Although you may have thought that I was done blogging for good, I'm not! I just wanted to take a break for a while so I could do some traveling and spend time helping my parents do a few renovations to our home.

If you follow me on twitter, you know that we've gotten new windows in our house, and now we are tearing down some of our barns and trees to make room for a new shed that will be going up this fall.

Now that I've gotten curtains hung in most of the rooms, I've started to renovate our shower. I've got the first coat of primer on the walls, and I'm waiting for my dad to install the new shower head before I start to do the second coat of primer and the rest of the painting.

I haven't been stuck inside most of the summer as it may seem. I've done quite a bit of traveling...and I've got a few photos to share!

As much as I love to travel, it feels so good to be home and grounded. The boy and I may go camping later in the week before we go to Tennessee later in August. I'm going to try to get posts planned before we go to Tennessee so hopefully you guys don't miss me as much!

Here are photos from the past couple months--hope you enjoy!!

House-sitting led to a couple good nights of drinking beer and playing Wii.
I thought it was ridiculous to pay for 'Drunken Tower'--so I made my own! ;)

The ol' Lean-to had to go!

It really opened up the valley...

We headed to Chicago for the weekend with some friends to take in a Cubs game!

We stayed at the hard rock...here was our view!

We took a cheesy boat tour of Chicago from Navy Pier...So pretty!

The boy & I ♥

We stopped at the Field of Dreams on our way to scout out a possible campground!

I managed to finish Fifty Shades of Grey...and I've just started Fifty Shades Darker...

We also camped at Devil's Lake in Wisconsin earlier this summer and visited the Dell's Mt. Olympus.

Took another cheesy tour ride! haha

Lately I've been going to tractor pulls with my brother--LOVE brother-sister bonding time!

Polish DUPES--Neon Pinks.

Something that maybe doesn't excite me that much is realizing that I've bought a polish and I already have something quite similar. I do, however, love that I am able to share those dupes with you so you don't make the same mistake.

I have two to share with you today. Both colors are absolutely gorgeous, so it doesn't bother me too much that I have so much of them. In fact I've gone through each of the Sinful Colors' polishes, and these shown are repurchased bottles! If that doesn't show you how much I LOVE these shades, I don't know what more I could possibly do to convince you!

First up is Sinful Colors' PINK and China Glaze's Pool Party. These shades are a darker neon pink. Like most neons, they both dry matte.

Second is Sinful Colors' 24/7 and China Glaze's Shocking Pink (Neon). These are your typical Barbie neon pink. These also dry to a matte finish.

If you have been following me for a while, you know that I love neon pinks. I wear them year-round, and I don't really care if they go "out-of-season".

PINK WEDNESDAY--Layered Gradient

Here's a mani I did earlier this summer and never got the chance to post it.

I started out with a white base and used neon pinks with a sponge to dab the color. I then did another layer in a different neon to give it a layered effect!

Happy Pink Wednesday everyone!

Sally's Haul

Here are a few purchases that I've picked up recently from Sally's.

A few polishes and a couple random things!

What are your thoughts about these products!?

Tribal: IKAT Print

Another mani that I've been wanting to try out is the Ikat print mani. The Ikat print is a form of tribal print--very unique, and having it on your nails is even more special!

Here are the few steps to achieving this look!

Start out with the color of your choice...

Add white streaky blobs like these...

Fill part of the white blob in with another color of your choice...

Then outline with a black using a streaking motion, and add a little black to the inside of the pattern.

Once it's all dry, add the topcoat of your choice!

I couldn't believe how easy this was...the biggest challenge is trying to do it on your dominant hand!

I thought I made a few mistakes, but I really like the way this turned out.

Let me know what you think!

Back In The WEAVE of THINGS.

I hope you guys missed me just as much as I missed you! I don't want to say that it's been great not blogging this past month, but it was nice to travel and do things without worrying about posting!

I will be sharing my adventures in my upcoming Sunday Funday post!

For now, I wanted to show you a mani that I've just discovered. I haven't been able to get onto my youtube account because I've been so busy. One of my FAVORITE ladies--MissJenFABULOUS--does amazing nail tutorials, and I really wanted to give this one a go.

Here it is! The polishes I used will be listed below!

Polishes Used:
Purple Panic--China Glaze
Shocking Pink (Neon)--China Glaze
Snow Me White--Sinful Colors

I'm so glad to be back blogging! Let me know what you think of this look!
