APRIL Favorites :)

Here are my monthly favorites!

ELF Kabuki Face Brush--I don't know why I haven't tried a kabuki before, but this one is GREAT! (Sorry it's dirty!)

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent (001)--Even though I still get oily, I don't get as oily as quick in the day...makes my makeup look better for longer!

ELF Blush in Candid Coral--All this talk about corals made me think about pulling this back out! I don't know I ever stopped using it! I love the golden sheen that I get from it, can't wait till I get even more tan. Perfect little glow for my cheeks!

NYX Liquid Crystal Liner in Crystal Silk--I love using this to line my upper lash line. I love how it brightens my eyes.

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl--I've been getting tanner, so this is perfect for giving me a glow on my upper cheekbones!

Spornette Little Wonder--As you probably have noticed I have been curling my hair a lot. I like to give myself a little more volume by teasing my crown & this brush works perfect for that!

These are my favorites--I want to know what yours are for this month! Leave them in the comments! If you have already blogged about them, please leave your link! I would love to check them out! ;)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Thursday, April 26

I just finished my tube of the Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser, and I thought I NEED to do a review on this face wash!

For starters I just want to say that this is the only product that I have come across in the drugstores that has 10% Benzoyl Peroxide. TEN PERCENT! Normally you see either 0.5% or 2.0 percent, but this one has 10%!

Because it has such a high percentage, I knew that I had to try it.

I LOVE this cleanser. If you  have been following my blog, you might have remembered that I started breaking out really bad after I started using the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer. I stopped using it, and my skin got a little better, but I was still getting horrible breakouts! That was about the time that I discovered the Continuous Control Cleanser.

Like I said earlier, I was impressed that this facial cleanser had 10% Benzoyl Peroxide. This is the ONLY kind of face wash that I have been using to clean my face while I'm in the shower. I believe that this cleanser has been the thing that's cleared up my face--granted I still get breakouts, but my skin is like it was before I had that MAJOR breakout, if not a little better.

  1. I love the consistency. It's got the perfect amount of tackiness that holds it together when you rub it on your face.
  2. The price is really good--only $4-5.
  3. I love that it has 10% Benzoyl Peroxide. (BP works better on my skin than Salicycic Acid)
  4. I have pretty oily skin, so it didn't really dry out my skin like the package says it might.
  5. I only needed a little bit (probably two pea-size amounts)--product lasted me a little over a month.
  1. I didn't have any negatives! I LOVE this product, and I hope that it never gets discontinued!

If you have bad acne or are just looking for a great cleanser, try this one out! If you have dry skin, you might want to be cautious using this product because of the higher level of benzoyl peroxide it contains.

Let me know what you think of this product? Are there any other products from the drugstore that have a higher amount than normal of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid?

PINK PINK GOOSE--Whoops, I mean GOLD. ;)

Haven't done a Pink Wednesday post in forever! I wanted to use my new Sally Girl polish that I'd bought recently! Here's how it turned out!

I want to say that this is a DUPE for the ESSIE Luxeffects glitter polish in A Cut Above. I did buy A Cut Above for my friend for Valentine's day, so I never got the chance to try it out. This Sally Girl polish, however, looks really similar!

I also haven't worn a light pink lately because of all the bright colors that I've been wanted to throw on my nails. I used Essie Raise Awareness as my base, and then used the Sally Girl polish on top, excluding my ring finger. I used Milani Jewel FX in Gold to change things up!

Wish my nails were in better shape. Let me know what you think!

Question Wednesday--ALL About the EYES.

I like doing these little questionnaires. I think they are a great way to get to know one another. Nykki does a great job with getting the questions up on Tuesday, so we can all post on Wednesday!

This week's questions are all about the eyes! #HereWeGo!

1. What color are your eyes && if you could choose what color they were what color would that be?

My eyes are blue, and if I could choose what color I'd want them to be...I would go with green. In the summer my one eye slightly has a more green undertone to it, so yea, green! haha
2. Bold Eyeliner, Light Eyeliner, or no eyeliner?
It just depends on the look. I used to go really heavy, now I just use it mostly on the top lash-line and upper tight-line especially if I'm doing a smokey eye. Mostly everyday I skip it!
3. What is your go to eye look?
Maybelline single eyeshadow in Linen as a highlight, some sort of light color on the lid, and mascara!
4. What brand makes your favorite eyeshadows?
NYX & Urban Decay. Love them both, and they're what I have the most of!
5. What are your must have eye products?
Definitely the eyeshadows from question 4, UD Primer Potion, Loreal Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner(Black), Loreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liqud Eyeliner, and Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara!
Hope you enjoyed my answers! Now go answer these questions on your blog, and don't forget to put your link to Nykki's Question Wednesday Post!

If you follow me on Twitter, then you probably have already seen me mention that I recently bought nail wheels. I have wanted to do this with all my polish for a LONG time. I've finally gotten around to doing it, so I thought I would show you how I did it along with a few tips!

I started out by numbering the nails on each wheel.

Then I simply went color by color and lined them up by shade and painted away! As I went along, I wrote down the names with the number it coordinated with on the nail wheel. I designated each post it to it's own wheel.

I applied two coats of each polish, and the ones that I thought needed more, I waited till the polish was dry and wrote on the back of the nail with a pencil the number of coats it took to achieve the color on the nail.

I typed up all the number and names in and Excel document.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

I have since been able to pick out polish fast and easy! These are also great to pair colors!

Have you used nail wheels!?

**I will post a SEPARATE post soon about what the colors are on each wheel! ;)

EOS Shave Cream REVIEW!

I recently bought a new pack of Bic Soleil 3-blade razors, and inside there was a sample of the EOS (Evolution of Smooth) Shave Cream.

Yesterday I thought I would give it a go and test it out!

The product states:

"EOS Ultra Moisturizing shave cream is nothing like soap or gel because it doesn't dry or tighten your skin. Instead, its thick, rich cream moisturizes as you shave, leaving you with a closer shave and delightfully soft and smooth skin. Who knows? You might even look forward to shaving."

I ALWAYS wet my legs before I apply my shaving cream. Then I used half of what was in the sample on each leg (I do one leg at a time). Then I took a new razor, and shaved upward like I normally do.

  1. It smells amazing! (Pomegranate Raspberry)
  2. I guess you can say that it's white cream is great so you can see where you've already shaven.
  1. It's not thick like the package claims.
  2. It wasn't very moisturizing.
  3. My legs burned and itched after using it. I know it wasn't due to razor burn, I had no signs of that whatsoever.
  4. I cut myself, and it wasn't because I wasn't being careful!
For me I didn't like this shave cream. I think that because it was just a cream, it made things very slippery and that's how I ended up cutting myself! My legs itched after I was done, so I don't know if it was just an ingredient that I reacted to, but it wasn't good.

My legs look GREAT today, they're very smooth. If my legs are going to burn after I shave, than I don't want to keep using it!

Sad to say that I won't purchase a bottle of this shave cream.

If you have tried this shave cream, I would LOVE to hear what you thought of it in the comments! Even let me know of your favorite shaving creams/gels!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

SUNDAY Funday--Drive-in, Nail Wheels, & Chocolate!

Hey hey hey!

Here's what happened this week! Not a whole lot, but I hope you enjoy!

The other day at Sally's I saw these nail wheels, thought they would be great in helping me pick out polish!

Something about vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and bananas!

Usually I eat the same thing for breakfast all week...this week it was a Egg and Cheese Bagel Sandwich...would have been SO much better if we had bacon to add to it!

Did I mention how it rained at the beginning of the week...I love rain!

My stack for Friday! Had to run some errands!

Last night the boy and I went to the Drive-IN! Although it rained, we still snugged up with 5 pillows and two huge comforters inside the truck!...Can't go to the movies without some kind of gummy candy and chocolate! The Hunger Games was pretty decent, although you definitely need a little background as to what was going on and why...poor Ethan was so confused! 21 Jump Street played second (main reason we went)--we love this movie! It's very funny!

I hope everyone's week as great, and I hope this week's even better!

I have wanted to do a BIG ‘Share the Love’ kind of post…and HERE IT IS!

These ladies are just SOME of my favorites! I really enjoy reading different blogs, and I find myself reading blogs every time I have the chance!

These are blogs I’ve been following for as long as I can remember & blogs I’ve recently discovered that I LOVE!They work hard to keep their blogs up-to-date, and they truly are genuinely the sweetest!

(*These are in no particular order!)

Now onto PINNERS that I love!

I have become addicted to PINTEREST. It’s so much fun, and I can learn so much! It’s a website were you pin photos to different categories(boards), and the photo is linked to the site where it came from.

I like to think of it as virtual bookmarks. Anywhere you can access the internet and log in, you have all these sites!

Here are some of the people that I have similar tastes to, and that I find myself pinning from!

If you don’t have a Pinterest, I suggest you try it out! Follow me! Brittany’s Secret
If you have a Blog or Pinterest, PLEASE leave your links below in the comments! I would love to check out your blog and follow you on Pinterest!

IF you prefer, SEND me your link via TWITTER! I’d love if you followed me-- @BrittanysSecret (my blog twitter ) or @WittBrittany (personal twitter)!

So so SAD.

One of the saddest things happened yesterday as I was getting dressed for school. My favorite belt out of my entire closet...broke.

Hopefully I can find a new buckle to replace it

Let me know if you have any ideas!

Question Wednesday--All About Food!

Here are my answers for Question Wednesday--it's all about Food!

1.       Vegetables or Fruit?
Fruit! I LOVE fruit. Some days that’s all that I pack in my lunch—strawberries, an apple, banana, kiwi, and really cold mandarin oranges or pineapple! I like vegetables too, but mostly just potatoes and green beans (cooked, of course). It’s hard for me to pick up raw vegetables and eat them.

2.       Salt or Sugar?
There’s obviously no debate about this one. Sugar. I love sweet stuff! I’ve always been a
big candy eater, and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t consume Mountain Dew!
I have been trying really hard to get away from drinking it though.

3.       Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner food?
Dinner. I’m not much of a breakfast eater, and my lunch food is pretty blah. I love trying new recipes whether it’s a casserole, new pasta, or just a new type of meat. Like I said before I love any kind of potato (mashed, cheesy, fries, etc.) I love any kind of steak or pork chop.

4.       If you HAD to choose only one food item to eat the rest of your life, what would it be?
Macaroni and Cheese OR  any sort of chicken wrap.  Love them both!

5.       What is one food that you HATE that most people like?
Baked beans! I remember in school everyone LOVED them! Even at home my mom makes a lot, and I just can’t stand the texture and taste! YUCK!

I want to know what your answers are! Leave them in the comments!

Happy Hump Day! ;)

Headband Holder--DIY

I can't believe how well my posts have all tied together this week so far. Today's post is a DIY that I saw probably about a year ago. I don't remember where I got the idea, but I do know that whoever thought of this was GENIUS!

It's a Do-It-Yourself Headband Holder!

All you need is a towel, some sort of decorative fabric, and some large binder clips!

First you just roll up your towel. You can make it however long you want.

Then lay it on top of your decorative fabric (I used a fleece blanket that I got at Wal-Mart a long time ago for a few bucks) and you wrap the towel up in it.

Use the binder clips to secure the fabric! These work great because they aren't permanent and if you want to change the length or shape, it's so easy to do.

I also like how the binder clips act as a "kick-stand" so it doesn't roll all over the place!

All you have to do now is put all of your headbands on it!

You can stand it upright or lay it on a dresser or desk.

Hope you enjoyed!

Disclaimer: I did not come up with idea myself--I'm just spreading the great idea to you! :)
