Hot Pink Flakie Splatter--Pink Wednesday!

I figured while I'm staying up to wait for a heifer to calve, I would post my Pink Wednesday Mani! I had a lot of fun with this one. I used new and old polish, and I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out! I want to do a whole series with splatters! I did a guest post for another blogger--more on that when it's posted--but I can't believe I hadn't done one in so long.

I think that I have been mostly sticking to more plain manis because I'm crunched on time, but I really need to find more time to do more intricate manis like splatters!

Hope you enjoy this color combination!

It's 11:11 here in Iowa so goodnight everyone...or goodmorning--whenever this post goes up for you!

QW--All About Me :)

Nykki from Nykki's Mane Blog has started a new series--Question Wednesday! This week's theme is 'All About Me'.

Here are the questions!
  1. How old are you?
    • 20
  2. Why do you blog?
    • I blog because I get asked all the time how I did something(referring to my nails or makeup) so I wanted to make a blog so I could share with everyone!
  3. What can we find on your blog?
    • Anything to do with beauty--nails, makeup, and hair. Lately I've concentrated on nails.
  4. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?
    • I would travel to Europe! I'd love to go on a huge shopping spree--there's so much that I see through others' blogs that I can't get in the US!
  5. What do you do for a living?
    • I don't have a job or career yet, but I'm currently studying to be an Administrative Assistant. I graduate from college this August! I'm so excited to see what life has in store for me!
Here's my answers--I want to see yours! If you have a blog, go participate in Question Wednesday on Nykki's blog!

Hope everyone is having a GREAT Tuesday!

Simple & Classy!

I have a few career events at school this week, so I need to have more professional looking nails. If you don't already know, I'm studying to become an administrative assistant. I'm almost finished with school, and I need to be looking for an internship. If my mani's seem to bore you this week, I apologize in advance!

I know I'm going to miss wearing bright colors when I finally get a job, but I honestly don't mind wearing simple and sophisticated nails!

This is five coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Shell We Dance.

Do any of you have careers that require simple and sophisticated nails? If so, what are your favorites to wear? Can you do whatever you want?

Let me know! Hope everyone has a great week!

Sunday Funday-Milwaukee

This past week was nothing exciting--EXCEPT Friday. And even then it was basically just another day in my life! haha It was the boy and my two year "official" anniversary of dating! Soooo we went to Milwaukee, Wisconsin!

We went to the zoo--where he went a few times as a kid. It was fun! Wish it wasn't so foggy in the morning because we weren't able to see Lake Michigan, but he promised to take me back and next time we could go to the mall! haha Thought I would share some pics of the day...

We didn't spend the whole day in Milwaukee, we also went for a ride on the river once we got back home, and we ate some yummy food from one of our favorite restaurants!

Stopped at one of the campgrounds we will probably camp at this summer...right on the Mississippi!

Turtles GALORE!

Had to wear the boy's kicks out on the river so I wouldn't get my new kicks dirty!

We watched the sunset on the river :)

Hope everyone's weekend is going fabulous!

Babe, You're a Knockout! ;)

If you have been following me for a while, you know that when I get a new polish I have to try it out right away!

Wednesday I bought two new China Glaze polishes---check out my previous post--so yesterday I had to paint my nails!

I love the way this turned out! I've never owned a neon orange(Knockout Orange) before and I'm so happy with this one! There is another neon orange by Orly that I might pick up and compare with this one. If you have a neon orange polish from Orly let me know what you think of it!

I layered the new flakie polish (Luxe & Lush) overtop--IT TURNED OUT BEAUTIFUL! I love this look! I can't wait to pair this on top of a bright yellow! It's gorgeous, although, I had a hard time with getting the flakes to spread evenly. Does anyone else have that problem!?

Hope you enjoy this look!

Today is the boy & my TWO-year-togetherness-anniversary? haha I don't know what you call it--I didn't even realize that today was our anniversary (Gosh, I feel so weird calling it that). Anyways...I forgot what I was even getting at...Oh! We are going to Milwaukee and spending the day there at the zoo and the mall!

Have any of you been there!? I'm so excited, especially for the car ride--I LOVE ROADTRIPS!

Hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend!

Favorite Top Coat-Seche Vite

Yesterday I couldn't resist going to Sally's during my break. I remembered that I was going to be in need of a new Seche Vite top coat (my absolute favorite) soon, so I figured I pick one up while I had time. I believe that's were it's the least expensive as well! They have a buy a top coat get a base coat free sale going on--it's not like I needed another base coat, but how can you pass that up! I'm not for sure, but I think that offer is good until March 31st (along with many other great deals).

Also saw a polish from the Hunger Games collection from China Glaze that I couldn't pass up--Luxe & Lush--which represents District 1. I, for one, am not into the Hunger Games buzz going on, but the colors in the collection look really pretty. If I go back soon, I want to take another look at the others in the collection.

Other than that I realized that I've never had a neon orange polish which sounds crazy to me because I own so many neon orange t-shirts! Can't wait to work with this one--going to paint my nails with it as my photos for this post are uploading!

Do you have any of these colors!? What are your favorite top/base coat(s)?

Wild things :)

I've found the perfect trick to making my Sinful Colors polish in Neon Melon look bright and last on my nails for days! My trick: layering it on top of a green!

Hope you enjoy!

Nail Polish Obsession Tag!

Hey! Today is Tuesday, so I thought that I would do a little tag! I get many questions asking what my favorite brands are and what I like and don't like...I thought this tag would be perfect! I found it on  All-Made-Up-21's page. If you haven't followed Laura yet, go do it! She's a great blogger and has a wide range of products that she talks about!

SO here it is...the Nail Polish Obsession Tag!

1.       What’s your favorite nail polish company?
Sinful Colors. Hands down—they have a lot of really great colors and they are very affordable!

2.       Glitter or No Glitter?
Absolutely glitter! Love, love, love it!

3.       OPI, China Glaze or Essie?
China Glaze. Out of all three it’s what I have the most of, and it’s what I prefer to buy

4.       When do you change your nail polish?
Whenever I need to. I either have painted nails or not. I can’t stand chipped nails! Haha

5.       What’s your favorite color on your nails?
I love neons! Especially in the summertime—gotta have a great neon!

6.       Darks or Brights?
BOTH! I think they look the best on my…I have a hard time pulling off lighter (pales and nudes) polishes.

7.       What are you wearing on your nails at this very moment?
China Glaze—Techno. It’s such a pretty holographic chunky glitter.

8.       Matte Nails—in or out?
Ehhh…out...for me out, I absolutely LOVE shiny nails!

9.       French Manicure?
If I had the money to get them done all the time, believe me—I WOULD! They’re elegant and they match every outfit ;)

10.   Favorite Winter Color?
I prefer darks because I get so pale in the winter. I like a good contrast from my skin to my nails!

I tag ALL of you to go do this tag! If you don't have a blog, leave your answers in the comments! I would love to see your answers!

Hope everyone's having a great week so far! ;)

Sunday Funday ♥

So I know that I have gotten away from my Sunday Funday posts, so I thought I would bring them back with a slight twist...with random photos of everything that's happened in the past week!

I was off all this past week for spring break...nothing too exciting happened! All I really felt like I did was Pin things to Pinterest! It's so fun and addicting--if you have an account follow me! I follow back! And if you don't have one--go get one! Send me your e-mail so I can add you! It's so interesting. I swear I learn more from Pinterest than I do at schoooooool!

As most of you probably already know, I live on a farm, and we have cattle! Welllll...we had our first baby calf this past week! Aren't they so cute!

Mom bought cabbage for St. Patty's Day, and I LOVE fried cabbage. Cabbage is the one thing that I love to grow in our garden, and it makes me so excited for summer!

The boy and I took in one of the final few hockey games left in our team's regular season! We ate at Sonic (never been there before), and I gotta say...it was interesting!

He even surprised me at the game and got glass seats. Up close and personal with the players! ;)

Did I mention our seats were right next to the player's BENCH! Haha I wore red, and that was probably a mistake because I could feel my face turn red every time one of them looked at me! ♥

Oh and we finally got a pretty good picture of us again!

How was your week/weekend!?
