Galaxy Nails: Attempt #1

This past week I wanted to try something that I've never done before. Galaxy nails. I didn't really know how I was going to go about it, but this is how it turned out.

I definitely am not giving up, and I will probably try this look again with a few other colors. Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Nail Polish Collection!!

Hey ladies! I feel really horrible that I have been MIA lately. I thought I would make it up to you and show you my nail polish collection! I didn't think I would ever do this, but I recently made a nail polish rack. I know, my wildest dream came true! ;)

I used to store all my polish in a nightstand drawer, but most of the bottles were too tall. I kept telling the boy how much I wanted a new way of storing my polishes. The other night we were looking for something to do so we made one! It was super easy and cost about $22. If you already have a hot glue gun and glue sticks then It only costs about $13.

Super easy that anyone can do it. I've watched so many of these videos showing how to make them, but I used the combination of these two videos from the lovely LovinBeautyNStyle & nguerriero19.

The whole process took about 2 hours, but I think it was SO worth it! I love the way it looks and it holds all of my polishes!

Hope you guys enjoy! Let me know what you use to store your polishes!

Shatter My Skull--Pink Wednesday!

Hey girls! I received my AVON order on Monday! I ordered a new shatter because I couldn't bring myself to buy another OPI Black Shatter. I can't remember how much exactly this Avon Mosaic Effects was, but I know that I like it way better than the OPI one.

If you wanna find out what happened to my old shatter polish, that's explained in My Black Shatter...Shattered. post. I was pretty upset about it, and didn't want to spend another $9 on it.

Today is Pink Wednesday and I thought I would feature three of my favorites!

I first started out with two coats of my Sinful Colors polish in Easy Going. This is a very light pink. I have never been a real big fan of light pinks like this one, but I have been wearing it everyday for the past two weeks!

On my ring finger, I took my Art Deco Nail Art Polish in Black and used the end of a bobby pin to make ovals for the eyes of my skull. It doesn't have to be perfect! I then used the thin brush to make a little "<" for the nostrils and I drew four lines to be teeth. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I've been trying to wear pink on my nails all month. Last week I did a full mani of this light pink with the skulls.

This week, however, I wanted to change it up, and because I got a new shatter I thought why not use that! Right!? This look is also great for Halloween!

I am in love with this look and I probably will be wearing this shatter over everything for a while now. Hope you guys enjoy!

Sorry for the really dry hands and uncleaned cuticles!

Chemical Exfoliants--WHAT!?

So I’ve got to admit that I am HORRIBLE at taking off my makeup before bed, absolutely horrible! I would say that I wash my makeup off maybe two nights out of the week. And I wear makeup at least 5 days out of the week, so you know that’s not good.

I will even say that I can’t make it a week straight with taking my makeup off before bed. I have, however, been more motivated than ever to take my makeup off once I bought the product that I am going to talk about.

I first heard about this product when LaFemme5278 did a review on it. She’s amazing at explaining things, and I trust her opinion about the things she reviews. So when I saw her video about it, I HAD TO TRY IT.

For one, I had never even heard of a chemical exfoliant before, and I’ve never noticed them when I was shopping. I just thought an exfoliant was something rough, like a physical process.

There are two kinds of exfoliants—physical and chemical.

The Walgreen's brand Alpha Hydroxy Face Cream is a chemical exfoliant. It consists of an acid called Glycolic Acid which helps remove dead skin cells and improve the texture of the skin.

In LaFemme5278’s video she linked to Dr. Neal Schultz’svideo from DermTV.com where he explains the differences in the two kinds of exfoliants and why he prefers chemical over physical.

I recommend checking out both videos—they’re both very informative.

I purchased the Alpha Hydroxy Face Cream about two weeks ago when I saw it and was reminded of LaFemme5278’s review.  It was about $9, but compared to the $20 price of the original brand, I thought it was a steal! Couldn’t pass it up!

Since I don’t regularly wash my face at night I was only able to use this cream four nights in a row when I did. Let me just say that after the first night of using this product, I woke up and my face felt so smooth! My skin continued to get smoother as the nights passed, but once again I got caught up with being lazy and would skip washing my face so I didn’t use it.

Starting tonight I am going to use this product for a week! I am going to wash my face every night no matter how tired, lazy, or busy I am. I am not only doing this so I can put out my own FULL review on this product, but I NEED to get into the habit of washing my makeup off every single night!

Wish me luck!

Have any of you ever tried an Alpha Hydroxy Face cream? Have you even heard of chemical exfoliants before?

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Wild Pink Wednesday!

Today is Wednesday and you know what that means! It’s Pink Wednesday, and today I have a cheetah print! I haven’t done one of these in such a long time but here it is! I used two coats of a nude polish. Then I used a bright neon for the spots, and finished the look off with a dark brown for the accents!

Of course you could use any color combination you want, these are the colors I thought would look different from anything I've seen!

Hope you enjoy!

Halloween Tutorial--Barbie!

Hey there! So I have another Halloween tutorial for you today! This time it’s BARBIE! Going as Barbie is great because she has so many different outfits and many different makeup looks! Another very universal look. Anyone can pull it off. I took the two Barbies that I could find—I had so many, I don’t know where they all went!—and based my look off them.

They both had purple eye shadow and pink lips, so that is what I based my look on! Here we goooo!

Because Barbie is always flawless, I used a very heavy coverage of foundation. I used my Revlon ColorStay of course. I concealed everywhere that was needed. After, I set everything with a powder.

Next I started on the eyes. I used a primer all over the lid from the lash line to the brow bone. Because I wanted my colors to be extra bright I used the Revlon Cream Shadow Quad in Wild Orchids. I used the one circled all over my lid.

After my bases were applied, I used a flat shadow brush and applied the darker (1) of the two shadows all over the lid. I added the same color to my lower lash line. I then used the lighter (2) of the eye shadows and used that to blend out the line in my crease and feathered it up to my brow bone.

I did a thin line of liquid eyeliner on my upper lash line. I lined my inner rims with a black kohl eye liner pencil and smudged a little on the outer half of my lower lash line. I added a few coats of mascara and that completed my eyes.

Barbie has very simple cheeks—mostly bronze with a little pink flush. I used a bronzer first and concentrated it on the majority of my cheeks. Then I added a pink on the apples of my cheeks.

For lips I would choose a very bright light pink and add a light shimmery gloss on the top. Barbie has so many colors of pink, you can choose whatever!

As far as what to wear, you could wear anything! Barbie has so many outfits, you can match your outfit to an actual Barbie and carry it around with you. Or you can even use this look with any occupation and be Nurse Barbie or Rockstar Barbie! It's really universal and that's why I choose it!

I hope you all enjoy! Let me know what you are going to be!

Blue-Hottie!

I have got nothing accomplished today! I had a whole list of things to do, but I just procrastinated and none of it happened. haha I did manage to paint my nails! One color I haven't used in forever was blue. I picked through my collection, and I realized that I hadn't even used my Sinful Colors polish in Fly Away. I applied 2 coats of that, and then topped it off with Sinful Colors polish in Hottie. I used 3 coats of that. And this is how it looks!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Bold Peek-A-Boo Pink Wednesday!

Pink Wednesday has come once again! For me thinking of a new pink mani is ALWAYS on my mind. Most of the time I figure out what I am going to do by just adding pink into a mani that I wanted to redo.

Today when I wanted to paint my nails, I reached for my silver glitter to do my Go BOLD look. But as soon as I was getting ready to paint my first nail I thought OMG I NEED TO DO A PINK MANI! Then it hit me that I should do a gradient like last week, but make the pink more of a "peek-a-boo" behind a silver glitter.

I apologize that they are not cleaned up very well, I was trying to take as many photos while I still had natural light!

I really love how this turned one turned out! Hope you enjoy it as well!
